Medelplanagården – Holiday apartments on Kinnekulle with a view of Lake Vänern
Your retreat on the western slope of Kinnekulle: apartments with 2–4 beds and their own kitchen, from SEK 650 per night, within walking distance of Munkängarna and Stenbrottet.
Holiday apartments on Kinnekulle
Medelplanagården is beautifully situated on the western slope of Kinnekulle, with a wonderful view of Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. Here nature puts on a show when the sun sets over Kållandsö and Läckö Castle.
The apartments
The Medelplanagården apartments each have one room and a kitchen with kitchen equipment, a fridge, TV and WC. 2–4 beds (35–50 m²), and cots for children are available. Bed linen is not included but can be hired if you wish.
Around the mountain
All the sights of Kinnekulle are within easy reach, and from Medelplanagården it is not far to the popular 45 km hiking trail that runs all the way around the mountain. The Kinnekulle train (Kinnekulletåget) stops at Råbäck and Hällekis, among other places, with direct trains to and from Gothenburg every day. In Hällekis there is a Konsum shop with post and bank services, a restaurant, a pizzeria, the Falkängen craft village and more. The Kinnekulle Ring motor racing circuit is on the other side of the mountain, 12 km away.
Nature
The beautiful nature and stillness of Munkängarna near Råbäck are within walking distance of your accommodation at Medelplanagården, as is the unique landscape of the canyon-like old quarry, where you can also fish in an artificial lake. On top of that there are all the castles and manor houses on Kinnekulle, most of which you can visit on foot.
